Alone

Alone

A Poem by Aprille
"

Actually written last November 2013

"

Once filled with hues

Once full of treasures

Now I’m alone in this empty room

Through the window, I stare at the moon,

Wanting to touch it but it never came close.

Travelling through the skies with both symphony and lies,

are bunch of memories sailing along with the clouds

Twinkling dots, patterns of light

Some are bright

Some are hidden for my sight

As I count the stars,

There’s someone I wish is beside me, telling lovely rhymes...

There’s an image I see inside a color beyond the darkness

There’s a picture of once an open door…

But now, it’s 1:00 am

The dawn is breaking

And I’m tired of crying

Yet I’m still alone…

Behind the shadows of the curtains

I’m alone trying to sing a poem

Picking up pieces of my heart,

with just myself...alone in this empty room.

Loneliness is sometime good for the soul just to sit and think about things. But lovely piece of work once again I did enjoy.

Thank you.
Love the flow here as you drift to that imagination place in your mind, love 'symphony and lies', so apropos, and the last two lines are perfect.

Thank you.
I have written my sad poetry late at night. Sometimes I like the lonely and quiet times. I could feel the thoughts and quiet of the night in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you.
A sad and lonely piece, lost love, all the things fine poetry is often about-- one thing, if you want to say "bunch of memories" it would be more correct to say "a bunch of memories" Or "are bunches of memories"
personally, I would eliminate bunches all together and just stick with memories

you are welcome...
Olive,

I like the flow here! I guess you were winding down to sleep... I notice something else, intended or not, the physical shape of your poem looks, to me, like a human head. If intentional, what is the significance? I also noticed one tiny factual discrepancy--I'm pretty sure the dawn never breaks at 1:00 am, except maybe in Iceland in the summer, lol. I know you've set this just before you go to sleep, but maybe you can fix this within the constraints of the poems meaning. Other than that little point, it's a good nights work...

It took me a second look to notice that it really has the shape of human head, actually the original.. read more

Thank you Willow. :)
The heartbreak here is palpable. It moves, gracefully building. "The dawn is breaking/And I'm tired of crying/Yet I'm still alone." These words have tangible impact. Well done.
