Sanity by April Broeckx

Sanity by April Broeckx

A Poem by aprilbroeckx

Confusion winds itself inside my brain

Daring my sanity to show its hollow face

With sunken eyes and shallow cheeks

Sanity is once more laid to waste

The carnage, blood, fear and war

Are forever in a constant rage

No reason, clear at it's core or famed

Can shake this constant leer of gore

Sanity has been washed away

Only to be replaced by savage intellect

All it may cause is horror worse than death

Upon this wreakage all havok is unleashed

Once this is achieved all is lost

There is no going back from here

My shattered mind is all but consumed

With thoughts of dismal disarray

Long since stopped trying to get it back

Forever lost in the carnage of insanity.
