Word Play of DarknessA Poem by april13"a dark period in a relationship"I’m a poet I’m a writer. My words are for real, My rhymes and puns seal the deal. I’m a master in this game, in case you haven't heard. I can take you away, Captivate you in my word play. Talks of hell, pain and agony, Tales of heartbreaks, depression and rage, They call me the Lady of Darkness. Your Queen in this Midnight Madness. For so long I had lived in my lightless cavern, Every word echoes the void inside me Every piece has a story to tell, -the outlet I’ve done so well. Then I met you.. I’ve been blinded by your light Touched by warmth of your love Something I thought I could never have. You inspired me, -brought me to a new dimension. A Lady of Darkness no more You filled that empty space in my core. Perfectly happy, Basked in light, in the glory of love Undeniably contented, -until the unexpected… Tears are streaming down my face, I feel so cold, crushed within I’ve never felt so much sadness -I’m slipping away back into the darkness, I’ve become too weak, -now I’m just a helpless fool. Don’t let go of my hand. Don’t push me back to hell-land. So you see, This ain’t just another word play. I’m calling out your name, reaching out for you. By all means, you know what to do © 2012 april13 |
