Strawberries

Strawberries

A Poem by The Pursuit of Venus

I bought her strawberries one day
The salesman told me they were ripe
But from the way she frowned when she took a bite,
I knew that they were not

I apologized over and over-
She had waited all day for these fruits
But she ate them anyway,
Said she could get used to them for me

We parted a month afterwards
And when I went to visit her house four years later,
I saw in her cooler she had strawberries
And not a single one was ripe.

Hmmm that was very interesting (and not because I'm a strawberry freak, I SWEAR!)
I like the line, "Said she could get used top them for me" especially, and then the end connects.
She tried, it failed, but she took something beautiful from it.
Yeah, I enjoyed that.

Thanks for sharing!
