For Math Class

For Math Class

A Poem by Apathy To Empathy
"

I had to write this for a project ._."

"

Spinning numbers,

Graphing intergers like

negative b plus or minus square root

b squared minus four a c

all over two A.

Oh how a simple math equation can become a song

That's stuck in your head.

It drums the drums,

Nails the chords,

And trips the breakers of the x-axis and the y.

At least, that's how I see it.

Imaginary numbers come up and out of the blue

And they're drilled in our head, me and you

The numbers pour so fast and fast and fast

Pour in our heads and the equations too

But we'll solve them

That's what we're suppose to do.

That's what our brain is for

And it grows more and more

As we take in knowledge of mathematics.

I hate math. But, I love the write because that's how the numbers always looked to me. And they did stick in my head like ear worms all day. Thank God I was able to kill them off with a steady blast of punk rock and Bukowski. lol!
Cheers!
