6: Eyes

6: Eyes

A Chapter by Apathy To Empathy

Eyes

Slowly they fold over, closing a lit room.

for only a few seconds, then they open again.

They flicker around, taking in sights

and hope to God that they aren't to be blind.

Luckily, they shut, and their host

takes a deep heavy breath.

Waiting for the images to ruin,

they hold shut as a bitter but sweet

liquid seeps out, running down the host's cheek.

They've seen too much.

They've seen too little.

They then open once more,

and blink every now and then.

Slowly, once more,

they fold over closing a lit room,

for only a few seconds, then they open again.
