A Chapter by Apathy To Empathy

At First Dawn Was Always Night

At first dawn was always dusk.

Bringing a warm proposition into my life,

you were always counting me in.

You always went back on your harsh words,

and said oo many sweet things

that I can't add up.

You always made dawn

speak sweetly to dusk.

At first day was always night.

Lighting my sadness with ecstasy,

you always made me laugh.

You always made sure to make me smile,

even if it was a tearful grin,

and no matter what you always made dawn

wipe every tear from dusk.

At first the sun was always the moon.

Asking for a warm day so we could spend

time together is what you were always wishing.

You always wanted to comfort me

when my sky was shadowed by the dark

and you couldn't resist hugging me.

You always made my sun come up

and my moon go down.

You are my twin, my sister, my mother.

You will always be optomistic

when mom and dad argue.

You will always be so time consuming

even if I'm irritated with you.

You are always concerning

when I'm filled with hurt.

As I have said,

you are my twin, my sister, my loving mother.
