Feelings are Falling

Pain is but a feeling.

I'm never enough, or so it seems.

This depression is slowly swallowing me.

This feeling in my gut's despair,

Because I know that you aren't there. 

The lack of love, religion, trust,

The looks, the glares, the pinch of disgust

Is getting me right to the core

Now things aren't getting better anymore.

My heart aches when I think of you,

It aches that things just might go through.

My happiness never lasts for long,

So, I know I'm doing something wrong.

Every step I take I make a mistake,

I f**k things up, I need a break.

Don't trust in me, Don't give me your all,

Because I seem to let everyone fall.

I'm giving up slowly, but it's getting quicker,

I'll wash it down with a few shots of liquor.

I'm always tired, I'm always sad.

Tell me, when did things get this bad?

Just please be patient, I make mistakes,

But if you leave, it's one more mistake I can't take.

No wasted words in the poem. Just honest and direct thoughts. I like the desire and the need in the poem. A very strong ending to a excellent poem.

This is one of your stronger pieces, I have to say. Very evocative, emotionally charged language. I loved the part "I'm giving up slowly, but it's getting quicker/I'll wash it down with a few shots of liquor". Very powerful. Once again, great work ^^

It was a very powerful line. For me especially. I used to have a lot of trouble with alcohol in the past. I wrote a poem about it on here called The Struggle. So that line evoked a lot of emotion in my mind.

Even though I'm young, I have been through a lot of hard times too and that line really reminds me of my past.
