This one's about a long distance relationship that I had.
Sitting in my car in the parking lot dreading his inevitable drive home.
I lived in Arizona, he lived in Oregon.
Kindred souls merely existing on borrowed time
A vacant lot cloaked in the calm darkness of night
Two trembling hands we had carefully intertwined
The air brimming with a sinking feeling we could not contain
I resided with the sun, you resided with the rain.
Great piece that reflects not just the long distance part of the relationship, but the sheer longing of something that should be there with you, but is noticeably absent. Great piece, short, but powerful.

p.s I live in Oregon, residing in rain is pretty much all we do.

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to read it :)
I love the last line. Long distance relationships are tough. There's too much distance. It must feel like you're leaving forever and half your heart is being ripped out.
The second to last line says a lot.
I liked this.

Distance can make everything so much harder, requires so much more trust, so much more hope, so much more effort. It's not always in your best interest to continue something that requires so much if not both partners are willing to give so much. However, when two people truly love each other, eventually everything will be okay and this will just allow you to appreciate each other that much more when you are finally together. Really well written and understandable. Great work!
