Haunted Houses

Haunted Houses

A Poem by Kelly B.
"

The ones that come and go when they please. Destroying everything in their wake.

"
I thought I had swept all the ghosts of you away, along with all the cobwebs that you tried to weave inside my brain, and clung to like a distressed spider fighting for its home, acting like it couldn’t spin a new web any place besides my own. Long ago I had reluctantly cleaned up the cluttered attic in my mind, that you turned into a graveyard filled with time after time I let you come back to haunt my reality and shake its foundation to the core, you kept creeping in through the cracks despite my best attempts to close its doors.
