Listen To Your Heart

Listen To Your Heart

A Story by Anwesh

A quick glance around and I see a room, a room that I call as my own. But how can anything be permanent for anyone when we ourselves are temporary? A tear softly glides down my face, leaving a trail of moist pain. They say that god has something in store for everyone. But, how do ‘they’ know? Who told them so? Did god tell them so? And moreover, who is actually ‘god’?

Why is it that we always accept things told to us without thinking? When you are small, your parents tell you to study, study hard so that you are able to become something when you grow up. When u think u are done with your studies, they tell u to study a little bit more, so that u unlike them, do not face hardships or unfavorable consequences. When u have a girlfriend/boyfriend, they tell u that they love you more than themselves; hoping u would buy them the lovely T-shirt or necklace that they just show in a mall. When u go to office, your boss tells u to work overtime so that u earn more, which is just a way of reliving himself/herself of the otherwise hectic hour or two that they would have spent doing that boring job that u are doing right now. When u get married, your partner tells u never to cheat on him/her, saying they would get lonely without you, but in reality, they wouldn’t be able to handle the house alone. When u grow old, your child asks u to ‘shift’ to an old age house for a few months, so that he/she could get settled and then call u back… But in reality he/she just wants to get rid of you because u have become a burden.

So, don’t u think its time u stopped listening to what others say and for once, listen to your own heart??

Do think about this…

HUH... ok ok... i know this is an old piece...but still shona...HUH..!!!... when your mumma asks you to study... does she note down the time and date so that you can return the favour later... or maybe when i say i love you..i note down time and date so that i can get a favour returned....

see...when we sit down and think... we find more man than material... which is strange for us..cuz all the while we knew it was the material surrounding us that we were earning...so how actually did we earn all these relationships starts confusing us... first of all..noone's bigger than your family...cuz they start loving you even before you're born...just the news of a baby coming delights em..you are their dream...and ask them to choose between a happy you and a qualified you... they'll choose your happiness...but they scold you for your own future security...more over... they have seen the world..and are afraid you'll have to face it all...so they just try to toughen you up....
next your partner...well i dunno... if you do not trust her love enough...she shuoldnt be your partner...
but the leaving thing...cuz she'll find it hard to handle the house... ARE YOU BONKERS... it'll take her an hour to be an w***e..and run the house... but there's something much more than material for her...it's her man....

so...now i'd say..
instead of thinking about it.. try and feel what surrounds you...
