Against Humanity (A gripe against the Delhi gang rape)

Against Humanity (A gripe against the Delhi gang rape)

A Poem by Anusha Prabhu

Women, they say, is emblematic

Of esteem, of love, of bliss and adore

Enacting the roles of a deity divine,

A sister, a mother, a seraph and more

Revere her, for the least you could do

To her caressing heart, her love infinite

Or I’d rather you to stay nonchalant

Than to slay her with your hollow might

Know her as a resemble of your protect,

Of your mother, a divine prospect

For every woman, that crosses your path

Is another face of your mother intact

Every man who slurs her poise

Shall subsist as yet a devil’s knead

Procreate deference in his intellect

And if he denies, he’ll learn its dread

May egalitarianism respite in your hearts

May virtues lift your heads up high

May every being feel its allure

May morals be your perpetual guide

May every woman own this world

Just as every man does possess

Let her breathe this world with you

And let her tang the nurture’s best.
