Reverence - A Forgotten Virtue

Reverence - A Forgotten Virtue

A Poem by Anusha Prabhu

Judge yourself and you’ll just know,

That what they think of you…

Well…it just aint true.

For you are infact,

The angel of dawn…

With brown glimmering eyes…

Shining bright on

The petals of morning light.

And if they have a heart

So stoned

Oh then they’re just not

Worth your devotion.

But you among the crowd

Shine like the sign of hope

As you, oh my love

With you in my arms,

When in the hardest of apocalypse

Gush my tears…

With those soft soothing hands

And as the tulip of hope

Show me the lift of life.

And for the devours of your favor

I would have no means

To return it though

Cuz’ what you’ve given

Is that gift of life

Which no matter how much I try to,

But would never succeed

In finding those ways

By which I’d endure you

And your heart of no vengeance

Is what makes me so desperate

To love you

And if you’d ever know,

My life is but your gift

Which you’ve flourished every moment

With the best of all lilies,

And so now I'm out,

Seeking the best for you.

And no matter who fails to revere you

I'm always here waiting for a chance

To show you that I love you

As reverence in my heart

Unlike in that of others

Is not just a forgotten virtue.
