A Poem by kaywrites
"

This is dedicated to the shopaholics out there and also to those freaks who have been filling up their piggy banks to shop for that one product they always dream of owning.

Topics are many in this world
   For me to write about
Though, each time my pen scribbles,
   Lines about him come out,

Were I, maybe, a born writer
   Having words to describe him
Or did he just make me one
   Just to express a whim,

My journey never begun with him
   He never saw me start
Our tale fired in the middle
   While at the shopping mart,

Hard to believe, if I tell
   That I felt a spark?
But, hey, that surely is true
   Below depths, came a jerk,

By the time our eyes met
   His lined face already gave
That very gorgeous smile
   Radiating the happiness wave

Rooted I stood, unable to move
   Heart pounding with ecstatic jolts,
Even my face glowed as if
   Been charged with 1000 watts,

My thoughts were collected; But, when
   Mercury drops face a spill
Don't they burst into smithereens? I
   Was under the same spell,

All too suddenly, the moment passed
   Leaving me staring at him
Confused and dazzled, I stood there
   Lost, wondering what to do,

I very well knew he had never
   Been in my planned pitch
Among my plans sorted out fine
   Was he the perfect glitch?

"So, KaY?", my heart asked me
   Thus, pulling me out straight
Proud owner I could be, but
   Chances were not that bright,

While I was juggling my chances
A honeyed voice behind made me spring
"Can I be of Service, Mam?"- Nope,
Wasn't the voice a little more mocking?

Surprised, I turned around, only to
Face my world's most favourite enemy
Who, unlucky me, was the salesgirl,
The very sight of her irritated me

We have a long story behind us
Which is not that very likeable
Everytime I come to meet him,
She ends up being so not amicable

"Hey Linda",I greeted or more like, grunted
"So, Kay, getting the Teddy atleast today?"
"He's got a name - Tony", I shot back
"Don't you dare to call him a teddy"

"Oh Yeah! You name him, fight for him
But, would you ever, maybe, buy him?"
Her cheeky question made me boil inside
And filled me with anger to the brim

Talking back was a waste of my time
So, keeping my lips sealed tight
I turned back haughtily and took the exit
For the 8th time this fortnight

I have got my eyes set on Tony; Nothing
That dork says is gonna stop me
From feeling his fluffiness one day;
That day would be my shopping spree

Till then, am gonna be Window Shopping,
Not giving a damn about people laughing!!
