When I Was A Kid

When I Was A Kid

A Poem by Anuj kaushik

Everyone passes through the phase like I did,

I used to be innocent, when I was a kid.

My life started with my parent's love,

This apple of their eyes was all above,

Those eyes were careful if I skid,

I used to be innocent when I was a kid.

Life was better, games were best,

nothing to study, no one to test,

sleeping tight with parents, in the mid.

I used to be innocent when I was a kid.

Mind was clean, the heart was pure,

friends were forever, that's for sure.

no one to cheat and nothing to hide,

I used to be innocent when I was a kid.

Now life has changed and love is defined,

friends are equal, anyone else is inclined.

something in the air that is burning my eyelid,

I used to be innocent when I was a kid.

Everyone passes through the phase like I did,

I used to be innocent, when I was a kid.

This poem shows the vast differences between age even while focusing on the childhood part, and shows us that we shouldn't underestimate children as they know how to be loving and caring and free, and in the end that isn't a bad thing. Well done.
