Until the first Bloom!!

Until the first Bloom!!

A Poem by Anuja Sharma

Like an anxious young seedling,

Desired & curious,

The moment I touched the ground,

The world was colorful & glorious.

The warmth of the first rays,

The rain shower on my tiny leaves,

Believe me, darling!

This devil wind made me dance,

And lately I realized

They’re all happiness thieves.

Wisdom whispering in my ears

Narrating the truth of gloom,

And then I knew I’ll wither, fall, decay

But would rise again,

Until the very first bloom.

Life runs in such cycles. Like planting tulips in the fall, it is the frost and the cold that make us stronger. You illustrate this so beautifully. Wonder poem.

Well even the thought of being a child again is so refreshing to me.
a delightful poem...sweet opening birth stanza..." they are all happiness thieves" gave me pause. Who are They ? ...the wind, the rain, the sun? ...they played so softly in the second stanza...could it be the devil wind is a passionate shadow dance?...after the ecstasy then the laundry..."the truth of gloom"?
Or is it Gaia's tempests wrath of hot wind and rain, that is the truth of gloom, till the new bloom of an epoch?

The joys of youth are to be savored, but they can be deceptive. The sensuous pleasures of verse 2 can make us fearful as time takes them away. Only when we learn that we are part of a cycle that will repeat itself continually will we be fully safe from fear.

The first steps into life and the joy that brings.
If only we stayed young and naive, life sure would be great.
It's definitely the latter part of life that gets in the way of living.

You’re very welcome!😊
I like how you use the seedling as a metaphor for death and resurrection (if I'm interpreting correctly)

Your poetic expression is quite lovely. Your lines speak to me of disappointment, probably in young love. However there is strength here. When we hit rock bottom, the only way is up. You know that. Out of the ashes....... Thank you for the read Anuja.

Ps typo in title? Should be first?
