A Poem by Anuja Sharma

Who is she?

She is a mother,

Care & love is in her nature.

Carrying a life in her womb

Sometimes hard as rock & sometimes soft as plume.

Fighting & protecting her child.

Coz she knows that the world is so wild.

Who is she?

She is a wife,

Who vows to love you for entire life.

She is a treasure, not a possession,

Who needs your endurance & not the aggression.

She shares the aching of your heart,

& will stay until death apart.

Who is she?

She is a sister,

Like a friend & guide & warmth in winter.

Fights, Pranks, Secrets & crossed hearts,

Someone whose love will never depart.

She is like a shining ray in beautiful paradise,

Caring & Sharing & being so nice.

Who is she?

She is a daughter,

So lovable- like a duck to water.

She wants to make her parents proud,

Be a doctor, or an engineer or go to clouds.

She is the little angel of a father,

& pride and blessing of a mother.

Yet, Who is she?

A mother, wife, sister & a daughter,

But to this world- a lamb to slaughter.

She is meant to torn apart by you,

It’s a curse which she can’t undo.

She is done, can’t fight hypnotism,

Still the world is somber without feminism.
