Storm-"The Villain"

Storm-"The Villain"

A Poem by Anuja Sharma
"

If its not forever, its not Love...!!

"

This is a tale of a couple,

Whose life was full of giggle & chuckle.

Ohh! She was a sweet dove,

Drowned & lost in love.

The guy had his own swag & charm,

It was a “Rosewood” arm.

They were mates, always together,

Upholding & guarding each other.

She loved to kiss his leaves,

Her soft feathers used to make him please.

She loved the coziness of his arms to forget all pain,

& he admired her like the blossoms are kissed by soft rain.

It was their first cheerful Rainy season,

Unaware of the upcoming storm & nature’s treason.

Delightment & excitement was all around,

The feelings were on the ninth cloud & bodies on ground.

The time arrived when this love story was about to erode,

The storm stepped in like a villain,

Everyone was in fear, from an old tree to a new born toad.

Fearless Dove & Rosewood,

They knew that their immense love is understood,

& no matter what they’ll stand by for each other’s good.

Now this pleasant rainy season turned into dejection,

Lying dove with teary eyes but still had affection.

Affection for the creaked & fallen rosewood,

The pain of her broken heart was more than broken beak,

Amidst of all this, LOVE was on the peak.

These lines bring such a terrifying yet exciting twist, and I must appreciate your strong story-telling power throughout this whole poem. It is just a pleasure to read and you have made it flow really well! Absolutely Stunning!

What a lovely allegory of love between a bird and a tree and all that they endure together, rains, , storms when the tree falls from a storm, the bird's heart is broken, just like what happens to us humans if we lose a loved one. Very well done!!!

Something called intellectual write with deep emotions that's what I felt after reading this. Love story with beautiful start and hopeful end makes this poem a vivid lovely poem. Must say an equation of reality and imagination used pretty well. Glad to read this.

You could turn this into religious flood mythology with very little effort.

There are some instances where you could shave things down and be more efficient but for the most part I like how you write. It's very edible.

I enjoyed the couplets that shared the reader into this descriptive poem, changing the pace of the piece by altering the stanza structure works well.

Thank you John for your worthy time to read this poem & giving the valuable review.
It was love for dove and Rosewood too.
But mother nature turned the screw.
Sadly they did part when the storm stole her heart.
Rosewood was cut in two.
Will there be a reunion.
You'll have to read part 2.
