Shot to remember

Shot to remember

A Poem by Anthony
"

The story of a young homeless drug addict

"

I’ll admit the drugs make me feel lit.

My life altogether is a great ball of s**t.

Weed gives me greed.

Cocaine gives me speed.

Adderal makes my skin crawl.

My left arm’s gone numb.

My heart is beating like a drum.

I sleep in the streets, while you sleep under sheets.

Your water’s from a bottle, mine’s from a canteen.

With all the patches on my skin, I guess I learned how to sin.

I have stage one memory loss.

I got beat up by my former boss.

I stole a good amount of money.

Only to spend it on weed and honey.

All the people that I’m beginning to miss.

All the little pools of momentary bliss.

They’re all lost in a streak of piss.

My first injection...was because of my first rejection.

Hopefully I can live past December.

But tonight....I’ll give myself a shot to remember.

Anthony
If you think the thought process is everywhere, you need to remember that I’m portraying a teenager, and their thought process can quickly change topics. They change from the past, to the present, and cause immense stress.
