Stage 6

Stage 6

A Poem by Anthony
"

My description of how a person’s mindset sounds like during a very deadly stage of cancer

"

You’re in a room filled with one repeated beep.

You wonder, “how will I get any sleep”.

What’s strange is you feel very weak.

Then you realize something’s begging to reek.

Now you’re awake, but the floor tiles are covered in cubes

Then you realize you’re filled with tubes.

It’s been two weeks, and you think you’re a monster,

Because without your hair you look like an imposter.

A few weeks go by and you’re eyesight’s foggy,

And because of the chemo you begin to feel soggy.

You’re entire life gets stripped away,

As you slowly begin to feel like a piece of clay.

In your ending moments you see everyone as pricks.

This all began after you were told , “you have stage six”.
