Because He loved
A Poem by nathan
Because he loved, heaven's splendor, hell's dark flames couldn't hold him. Because loved, he traded the infinite, for two eyes, two hands and feet: the bonds of mortal flesh. Rags he put on and went without a home, All so I could, into grace, come. Because he loved. Because he loved, he was accused, abused and spat on, He was beaten and finally smitten But he bore it, taking on a crown of thorns over a crown of light, Because he did has and always will love me.

I cannot even begin to tell you how this makes me smile. I love it when one stands up and tells the world who holds his or her heart. Wonderful!

i like this a lot, especially the last stanza, how the words are separated to emphasize how the love is truly infinite... :)
