In Tongues of FireA Poem by nathan
We cower and hide,
shut the windows and lock the doors when the sky darkens it's brow and rain clouds gather their relatives for the storm. We have always known storms as instruments of hate we imagine them as the embodiment of anger and malice Forever blind to the love burning behind it. What if the sky was in love with the earth And the earth spurned that love? (Who amongst us doesn't know that feeling?) And the sky, in an attempt to express that love showed the earth it's heart? We cower and hide, shut the windows, lock the doors when the sky darkens its brow. Maybe we do this because we fear loving so intensely and we take hold of the four corners of our minds because such love is erratic and wild and when we do love thus we fear expressing it for it breaks the banks of all streams of words and rivers of thoughts. Though there is rebirth after acceptance Refreshent after release and peace from unsealed lips and the sun is sweeter. . . . Oh, the rain's finally stopped, time to go to work! :) © 2011 nathan |
