Face (To my China-doll)

Face (To my China-doll)

A Poem by nathan

Since I have only known your words,
derived tone and stress from punctuation marks,
drawn your expressions from emoticons,
I have given you a soft husky voice
like velvet.
It is this voice breathes in me
from the friendship we have forged.

I have given you stars for eyes-
two diamonds embedded in your moonlit face
exploding with a glitter of ageless wisdom and grace.

I have given you the moon for a face
so that whenever we 'speak'
all I have to do is look outside my window
into the sky for that familiar face.

I have given you the night for hair-
dark,mysterious and long
stretching and cascading over your shoulder
down to that point of beauty

For you have given me the world
when all I could do is conjure up bits and pieces
of you
My friend
My China-doll.
