Born of Hope

Born of Hope

A Poem by nathan
"

this is the sum of all we hope for

"
I am from shelved dreams,
the reason you endure a crappy job
waiting for your lucky break.

I am from smiles at funerals,
from a burning desire to face
a new day.

I am from bruised hearts and busted limbs,
willingness to give it another try.

I am from hidden strength,
pardoning an open lie and extending grace
in the face of offence.

I am from a backward glance,
the impulse to hold on after tearful
goodbye.

I am from a father's prayer for a prodigal son,
a mother's desire to birth and nurture

I am from memorable weddings,
enchanting encounters and second chances,
I am born of hope.

Great Poem! The stanzas had a strong power to the poem. it's very good, just a few minor mistakes:
the reason you endure a crappy job(,)
I am from a backward(s) glance,
a mother's desire to birth and nurture(.)
What's amazing about your poem was that you were able to spot the bits of hope in life and how they're small moments but feel something as big as hope! :)

Enjoyed:
1) The language overall is beautiful
2) Good theme and was consistent with it
3) The strong first stanza

Could change:
1) "from a burning desire to face" The phrase "burning desire" has been written many times. Try for something that no one has heard of before and this line could be a lot stronger.
2) "willingness to give it another try." This line could be made more unique in its language.
3) "enchanting encounters and second chances," The phrase "enchanting encounters" - my gut is telling me that this could be made more unique.
