Night Sickness

Night Sickness

A Poem by antiessay
"

Insomnia likes to punch me in the stomach occasionally.

"
Startled awake it hits me.
I try to hold it down, but there's no stopping it tonight.
It pushes upward and upword.
I'm about to explode.
I can't contain it.

I swallow once and it triggers it.

They come bursting out of me.
Unrestrained.
I twist to the side and let it out.
Over and over again I lunge forward as they wretch themselves from my grasp.

Like a cap torn from a  hydrant
I throw-up these words, reluctantly yet repeatedly.
They spray from the fountain of my pen.

And the ever faithful blank sheets catch them every time
caressing the regurgitation of my heart.

This is a good poem. On the third line, the last word, shouldn't it be "upward" and not "upword"?
