TreasureA Poem by antiessayI wrote this when I was a virgin.
Across the sea, over the mountains, along the endless road did I travel.
Searching high and low, under every mask and peering down from the sky, I asked every passerby, "Have you seen a pure lover? There must be one, there has to be! One that is only for me. He is the one who in love I surely will fall." But none had seen him. Not one at all. Some were shocked when I asked about my destined lover. Some looked at me doubtful and shook their heads doing their part. Others laughed at me calling me foolish, "for you can never find a man with a clean mind and heart." Although I will keep pressing forward, determined to find the one only for me. I will not listen to their lies. I know that he is out there, and I will not rest until I look into his loving eyes. I must be with him despite the costs. I will die without him near. How I long to be at his side. When will I be called his bride? But until that glorious day when I will wear a gown of lace, his love only will I forever chase.
