My gift of a MummyA Poem by mamabearI held your hand As you passed from this world to the next My daddy came for you that morning He did not stay too long He just waited for you to be ready And then together you both left Now I have to spend my life without you The pain of losing you is still strong I do not think it will ever pass But when I revisit the pain I know how much I love you And I will never forget! From the day we met I loved you They all made the right decision From Social Services who took me from an unfit mother And the courts decided I could be your daughter And gave me the gift of a family The gift of a mummy and a daddy You turned a b*****d child Into your loved and wanted daughter You taught me right from wrong You gave me a code to live by I learnt to hold my head up high Even when things are bad Just because I grew in your heart And not under it I was no less your daughter You taught me the type of mother I wanted to be Without you I would not be me I owe you my life You saved me from a life without love You gave me a reason to live You are my real mummy The other was just an egg donor Delivering me to you Thank you for all my memories And despite all your worry You did a good job I turned out alright in the end And I’m here to say to you Thank you and I love you Sleep well my mummy Till we meet again © 2010 mamabearReviews
