what if

what if

A Poem by nenakris

My thoughts circle round and round like the needle of a compass.
But my mind is still in twists,
When I think of the times we coulda shared a simple kiss.
Your hearts in the right place,
but it's vacant. Abandoned by the tenant called emotion looking for a less colder space.
But lies and deception loved the taste,
So it was brief... Simply an open and shut case.
I see the look in your face.
Denying my verbal proclamation.
I can see you shaking..
My mind's the dj, my mouth the transmitter and my body the radio station.
I know what you been facing.
You know you're conflicting.
What we got is a "what if" situation.
I could sometimes picture you saying baby save me.
But then I tear that picture up and think why would she crave me.
Maybe,
All we can do is wait and see.
Before we drownin this conflicting sea.

"Abandoned by the tenant called emotion looking for a less colder space." is a fantastic line! I also like the final couplet very much. You captured the "what if" very well in this piece. Anyone can relate to it, and that's what makes a poem work. Thanks for sharing.
