How to Make me Fall in Love with you in a Writing Class

a short amusing poem i found in my notebook

Come in with a nicely trimmed beard

and glasses

Wear earth tones

So I know you're grounded.

Sit to my left

Be funny

Give valuable critique

Brood

Occasionally 

But not all the time

Write Beautiful words.

Part of a collection of poems I wrote during my classes this semester which take on a different tone than my poetry normally does.

Very cool piece. Proof that we are not so complicated after all. And that if you can step on the dozen or so stones laid out before you, one, can reach the heart. The trick though, I think, is not everyone is a straight shooting poet; meaning a properly constructed expression can be a valuable road map. Yet many choose to "obscure" that sacred journey.

I like this piece. Short and to the point. It's a lot harder to write whimsical poetry than ppl think. A lot of time it comes off as cheesy, or preachy, but I think you found a good balance here.
