Pink, Red, and Yellow

Pink, Red, and Yellow

A Poem by Ann Outlaw

Pink, Red, and Yellow

By

Ann Outlaw

The somber grey sky dances and emerges as light blue

The naked trees open up, they're in full bloom

The grass shines like a sea of diamonds covered in morning dew

Quiet for the winter, Mom's roses awaken to peep through

Pink, red, and yellow - I see Mamaw's eyes in their hue

The season has faded, what's to come is brand new

From the back window, a vase full of roses from you...

Have you ever wondered what they look like from the moon?

I think Mamaw's favorite view...

Is seeing the pink, red, and yellow that you grew

You are a very good writer. This is lovely, and so perfectly suited for Spring.

What a lovely and precious piece of poetry with a constant rhyme woven through lines of beautiful thoughts, memories and the coming of spring. Really nicely done Ann. I especially like the image this creates in my mind and the fragrance I know is drifting through.
