One Last Time

One Last Time

A Poem by Ann Outlaw

One Last Time

By

Ann Outlaw

You're gonna kill me or hate me
Maybe both in time

We swore it was over
But can I see you one last time

A proper goodbye is what I ask
An ode to this foolish life of crime

I still see us young and free
In our prime
Break up to make up
Extra vodka, a little lime

The game we liked best
Like a prisoner doing time

Can I see you tonight
I promise, just one last time

The invitation One Last Time seems intriguing and so interesting. A lot could happen in that one last time. Perhaps, the chasm could be bridged or perhaps the bridges could be burnt forever. Either way, there would be lessons learnt and realizations made. The rhyming was great to read too.

We needed that, it's better than leaving without a proper closure. Don't let anything left unsaid. I enjoyed reading this poem.

Here's hoping their answer is..."You can come by on one condition...that a last time never happens."
Seems these things are front and center in your mind my friend.
