Like A Seed I Am Sown

A Poem by Ann Outlaw
"

Short poem about leaving the past behind, in search of something greater.

Like A Seed I Am Sown

By

Ann Outlaw

Leaving everything I've ever known
Running from being all alone

I've outgrown this sleepy little zone
Stepping into the great unknown

Will it work out?
Or will it be just another clone?

I don't know yet, but I deserve to be shown
So like a bird in the wind
I flap my wings all on my own

In pursuit of something greater...

I dig the hole, then into the rich soil
Like a seed, I am sown

This makes me think of a lotus blossom. It rises from the mud but is washed clean by the rain. Your work speaks to me of a very strong, resilient woman. Life can break us, or it can make us. I think you have blossomed beautifully.

Ah yes, I love that - the lotus bloom. Thank you for your comment.
Hello dear Ann Outlaw.
"I dig the hole, then into the rich soil
Like a seed, I am sown "
I understand the above lines. I changed my life completely four times. I left states and I left the country. Sometimes we need to be planted elsewhere and attempt new dreams. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Thank you!
It is nice to see how this poem has grown.
When we take the time to replant ourselves, there is no telling the bloom that might eventually emerge. Beautifully done Ann
