Fuzzy Little Bear

I dreamt of you for so many years

Sleepless nights that always turned into tears

I pictured your face, I could see it so clear 

Then I found out you weren't just one, you were a pair 

Delicate in my womb, carried with so much care

Two of you, not just one, it seemed so rare

A distant dream, after seven long years

God finally answered my biggest prayer

Thousands of them, carefully sent up in the air 

I finally felt like He really did care

Instead of holding you, stroking your light brown hair

All I have now is this fuzzy little bear

A faith gift, I built him for you both to share 

After so much heartache and despair

For a short time, my path was finally made fair

But you were taken from me...

Now this grief I'll always wear

A powerful and emotional piece of poetry that really touches the heart. I can't even begin to imagine the heartbreak of such loss. But these words really give a window view of the pain and sorrow one deals with after enduring such sadness, Ann. I have always felt writing brings catharsis and healing in times of need. Because at times we need to spell out our pain and suffering to better understand and begin coping with it. We may never forget such sorrow but we learn to eventually live with it and carry it with us easier into our lives.
