We Never Saw the Summer

We Never Saw the Summer

A Poem by Emmy
"

Actually a song that I wrote, but also kind of a poem

"
Do you miss me?
Because I miss you so much
So much I thought it would kill me
Sadly I'm still alive
I get to watch you move on and thrive

Is she good to you?
because I thought I was
I thought I was good enough for you
I think too much
Mostly about how I miss your touch

You never gave me a reason
Your mother said wait for every season
We never saw the summer
What a bummer
We never saw the summer

Just so you know I miss you less each day
Still I miss you more than I would admit to say

I wish we stayed together to see the summer
We never saw the summer
I wish we saw the summer

I know its kind of sloppy but its more of a song than a poem. Still I hope you enjoy. Any feedback is appreciated!

A poem of not only regret and sadness but some contempt (Is she good to you...?). The summer references work well in this poem. We generally identify with summer as a good season, full of warmth, sun, and good times. And, that's how relationships often cycle, too. Cold, rough "weather" followed by warmer times, more light, etc. The mood and emotions rush from your poems. It's a solid work.

Not bad at all for lyrics. I can certainly feel the emotion coming through. Keep writing. All good wishes

I think it is pretty good, it's honest and touching. I love the final two stanzas they are so full of pain and regret. Hold those emotions long enough for a good write and then let them go and live. Well done.

I also like how you turned your pain in such beautiful words.
