Deceitful EyesA Poem by Annie RacheleYou are beautiful because of the person you are inside. It shows on the outside when you start to believe that.
Can you tell me how it’s possible that people say
Not to trust their eyes? And yet they look into the mirror, pointing out their flaws Not even thinking to look past the lies. They see deformities and problems, Where only skin and hair reside. They add pounds where none exist Until they’ve lost every ounce of pride. Our eyes all play tricks In more ways then one It does not have to be dark To see imperfections where there are none. You are beautiful with that smile, And handsome with that grin, But I wish you would show them off It shows when you are confident in your own skin. © 2018 Annie RacheleAuthor's Note
