If I was Told TodayA Poem by Annie RacheleThis is a poem I wrote for my mom on Mother's Day this year.If I was told today, that we would soon part ways, I could not go on, so dim would be my days. You mean far too much to me, that I could never see How I could make it without you, in this crazy messed up
world, it would be impossible to do. I would compare you to a flower, but often their petals
fall. Whereas you are always there, a strong and steady waterfall.
Your water rushing with such zest, and never stopping to
take a rest. It gets past rocks and trees, follows the wind and breeze,
but not even the sun could stop it. I think about you often, when I feel I cannot keep moving my
feet. You will stop to hug me, holding me so tight, that I can
hear your stable heartbeat. Life is not always easy, our family should know, but you have
kept us going, keeping us from the pulling Undertow. Your unconditional love is something we will only see from
you, we are connected with a string no knife could ever cut through. So let me take this moment, to say I love you and I will
never stop. You put everyone before you, a quality that no one could
ever top, But I will watch your simple gestures and learn all that I
can, for the world is full of surprises and God has his own plan. Next time there is some new challenge I will smile in its’
face, because I have learned from you, a way to win this race. So if I was told today, that we would soon part ways, I would never stand to believe it because your love forever
stays. I have given it some thought, and I really just want you to
know, that the life you have given me only goes to show That God must love me very much because of all the lives I
could have lived, he knew you would be the perfect mother and you are the best
