The Human Mind

The Human Mind

A Poem by Annie Rachele
"

I wrote this Sonnet for English class but decided not to use it. Hopefully you can understand what I am talking about in the poem.

"

We start our lives early, with truth and lies.

Making up stories, from inside our heads,

But the human mind leaves much to surprise.

We all have that line, which is thin as thread.

Some people may see it, others may not,

But even the insane started with us.

Some walk right over, and never get caught,

Committing crimes not short of treasonous

We have that moment, a second in time.

Our strength is tested, forcing to decide,

Between right and wrong, virtue and a crime.

Thinking these thoughts, a thousand miles wide.

We all have a certain mentality,

Deciding our outward normality

Author's Note

Annie Rachele
It is a bit of a weird poem but I still enjoyed writing it. I did write it very quickly because I needed it for my English class. That means there are most likely a lot of mistakes. I would love to hear what you think and whatever constructive criticism you may have.

i did understand the poem, there is only a thin line between sanity and insanity but believe it or not we are all insane in our own ways and sometimes it is difficult to define what sanity is

Yes exactly, because every decision we make impacts what we are classified as and how we will act.
