That
I would trust each hour to Jesus
and would not so much trouble borrow...
To have a good plan for today
is best than a better plan tomorrow
since I may not be granted
another hour, another day,
'twould that I listen to the Lord
and follow in His way,
for He sustains my every need
when I do what His word I'm told,
doing the best that I know how...
I know not what the future holds,
yet on His lighted path with Him
I'll see eternity unfold
and be there to enjoy it,
His
word, more priceless than gold
as I trust in that old, old story,
heed the good plan He has for me,
I'll know life in all its glory,
life for all eternity...
When I leave my plans to Him...
for He said He'd come again,
lift me from this messed up world
we're now earthbound and living in.
My future, more bright than sunshine,
and I'll live forever to enjoy it,
Heaven on Earth, just as foretold...
no devil to destroy it.
I'll see Jesus coming in the clouds,
see the crystal fountains, streets of gold,
those
gardens, Oh so marvelous,
great wonders still untold
in a place of peace and harmony
when to His good plan I hold.
This life is bound to woe and troubles
but Christ said, 'Follow Me',
and that seems to me a good plan
since His will is perfectly
the best plan for each of us
if we would glory see.
It seems to me a good plan,
since another day may not be,
His good plan for today,
is the better plan for me.
It
seems to me a good plan
for He knows what's best for me
and I shall not contrive a better plan,
that I can know with certainty
for I've already tried that
and miserably I've failed,
for all my best plans I've contrived,
in each one some sorrow has prevailed.
It's been such a woe some struggle,
more oft than not to face defeat,
'til I took all my wretchedness of life
and place it at Jesus feet
and asked for His forgiveness,
for His help to do things right...
I
still don't do things perfectly
but at least I see the light
at the end of the tunnel,
and each day gets better still
as I do the best I know and can
according to His will.
His good plan for my life,
'twould I just but follow,
is far greater than I'd dream conceive,
than all my best plans tomorrow...
So I'll follow where He leads me
the best I know how and can
and
pray God, forgive my trespasses,
in Jesus name, Amen...
For I know I'm going to make mistakes,
those of the human kind,
but I'll a lot less trouble borrow
when I keep Christ first in heart and mind,
follow where He leads me,
walk with Him hand in hand,
seems to me the better way,
one Almighty, Perfect Plan.
