Daydreaming

Daydreaming

A Poem by Anne K. Summers

I prefer to be lost in my own consciousness over almost anything else in life
As a child, it was called daydreaming, and as an adult people call it spacing out
But in reality, is it a choice?
I choose to allow my consciousness to wander and roam and take in my surroundings, whether my thoughts form words or I simply have an awareness
These wanderings are like a high to me, more powerful than I can imagine any drug to be, and more addicting
I choose to allow myself simply to be

About
My writing is all stream of consciousness written in the moment, so please take it for what it is. Writing is cathartic for me, and I somehow feel the need to share it with other people. more..
