I seem to be stuck

I seem to be stuck

A Poem by AC Cheatwood

I seem to be stuck in a dark corridor of thoughts
Crawling to find a door
Feeling around I try to find something to grasp
Nothing is there
My arm is outstretched
Someone must see me
Someone must be around
No bright light
No doors
Just a hallway
Just a dark empty floor
I shiver
An immense pain comes
The pain is a comfort, though
That I can even feel anything is a blessing
I hear my thoughts aloud
I am dreaming, I say
Then I realize
It was not I who had said that
It was a memory
Of the good times that have helped me
Through this pain
The agony of a girl who cannot find something
Something
Something
Anything

This is an amazing piece. Many of us from time to time have had a memory overtake our inner thoughts and dreams. Some of those memories are ones we wish we could forget. Well done.
