The Repeating CorpseA Poem by carolineThis is about a person with ocd that is obsessed with everything. someone I know.He picks up his arm which has fallen off and reattaches it as he moves his lips with his hands and says the words "I am dead and lie in my coffin bed",
We all look with horror as he straightens his dark black dress tie Which was his favorite one when he was alive that is before he decided to die
He spoke often of his wonderful dark tie and straightened it over and over again Until I wondered where his obsession began with a tie where his hand had been
He yelled the words I dreaded to hear "I am dead and lie in my coffin bed" As I remembered the questions he used to repeat as I closed my eyes with dread,
How much longer could I listen to the same exact words when he was alive it was worse But now I have to even hear the same syllables haunt me from his corpse,
I cover my ears with my hands as he straightens his top hat on his rotting head and I close my eyes as I see one black tear rolling down his skull as it bled,
And again he yells despite my protest "I am dead and lie in my coffin bed" So I want to tip his hat and watch him fix it but carefully away from him I tread,
He stands in the graveyard yelling the same words as if we didn't realize the occurance of his demise I run away until he is long gone and leave him standing all alone to his obsessed suprise.
