Deceit revealed

Deceit revealed

A Poem by Anna

I scratch
     at the surface
of lies
     revealed in layers
of hardened anger.

There is something
     buried
beneath the fingernails
     driving into skin,
          irritating...

Deceit sticks
     between flesh
and nail.
     Angers' blood
drips upon the surface
     of disdain.

Clarity is shown
     in drops of thinning
crimson,
     reflecting what
          was hidden.

I pick from under
     fingernails,
the layers of ugly
     dirt
you hid from me.

Leaving your lies
     in piles of
dead words,
     upon your table
          of arrogance.

It's strange how this poem reflects a very deep evil truth and so much pain, but not sadness.

***** poem.
