I like the way you infuse the actual Hail Mary prayer into your own religious thoughts and opinions. A great 'tribute', if I could call it that. I'm a Christian, and I guess this prayer is the only way of witnessing the full glory of Mary, the Mother of God. After all, we are only humans and do not understand God's mysterious and supernatural ways. But that, in the end, adds to Christianity's charm, blind faith, and several other unique qualities.
I would have liked more raw feelings about YOU in this poem. Depressing feelings and a prayer combined could be a great read.
The combination of the prayer and the words made it so much more than a poem and a prayer. It was the mind, the heart, and the soul all trying to combine together and make sense of something that only the true nature of ourselves can know. Powerful piece.
This was a beautiful poem. I loved the way you incorporated the prayer in it. It flowed quite well and I like how you italisized(I know the sp is off lol) everything. One thing is that if you're going to italisize the prayer you need to do the Full of grace part too... Any way this was really good. Great job!
This is very beautifully done. I like your style, and the incorporation of Ave Maria is positively brilliant. I would have never thought of doing something like that :) It made me reconsider my views a little and think more about what is truly important =) Great job
First I have to say WOW I never thought I would read a religious piece from you. LOL Now tha I have that out of my system.
I deeply interested in your write here. I don't think in the Christian Faith that Mary is given her true honor. But then again we are also talking about the religion the put to death Joan of Arch because she was a woman and also the same religion that sent many women to their death for Witchcraft for speaking their minds and expressing themselves. So now that I think about it I guess I understand a bit more why. But never the less in my opinion she is definitely the great one.
Loved this piece it is nice to read your words once again.
WOW.
Let me begin by stating that I did have to go back and read this more than once to make sure that I could give your work here the review that it deserves. This could, in fact, be my favorite poem that I have read lately and now I will explain to you why.
I don't believe that this is simply your thoughts entertwined with a classic prayer. My interpretation is that this is how YOUR heart and perhaps your soul believes that the classic prayer should really go. And the courage as a writer that it takes to do something like that is not only admirable, but commendable. I myself have shared those thoughts with you infinate times as I have struggled with the pretentiousness that religion can sometimes have, and I believe that you have injected "our" truths into Hail Mary in a way that is eloquent, powerful, and completely riveting. I will not just thank you for the read, I will tell you that appreciate your talent and your thought process and this incredible piece that they have created. Thank you.
