A Poem by Annalisa
"

Written in April 2008.

"

Behind the anger lies desire,

the hunger to be left alone.

However the more I withdraw

the more invitations arrive in the mail.

The family demands dinner and a photo,

work demands attendance and civility,

men expect sex and the etiquette

that surrounds a relationship.

It is believed that people need to interact

on a social level to remain sane.

And yet all the people in the world

could never make up for the

euphoric oblivion solitude offers,

the clarity loneliness gives to thought,

and the peace found in silence.

This is masterfully done and a topic I can really appreciate. It's human nature deconstructed and not too much, not too little. A good go!

In the fourth line is it supposed to be "more invitation arrive in the mail"? other wise than that i really like it. it flows nicely and the message it says is worded very well.
