BeliefsA Poem by AnnalisaOriginally written in 2002. The poem talks about pushing opinions onto other people, and how it rarely has a positive response. What compels your need to impress your beliefs into me? Do I walk down the street screaming my convictions? No… Yet you still feel the need to force yourself upon my mind. Do you think you’re the first? The first to reveal to me Jesus Christ? Yeah right… I’ve heard it all before, yet still you don’t understand and continue to bore me. I gave your god a fare chance, as I did all the rest. But you see… I wasn’t impressed. But of course you cannot be content with that… So next time you think to impress, to force, your beliefs onto me be ready for me to do the same.
