To the Boy Who Had the Nerve to Call Me ManlyA Poem by Anna
To the boy who had the nerve to call me manly...
If my muscular arms and my thunder thigh legs offend you I'm sorry But then again I'm not because why should I have to apologize for my body? The 60 pound pre weighted barbell must have set you off because you picked up a 40 pound one and called me manly. But if your pettiness and self consciousness makes me less than a girl than sure you can say I'm manly. "I'm sorry" I didn't quite realize that my confidence interrupted your ability to think with your head... And when I say head, I mean actual head. The one with the brain inside it, but then again maybe it wouldn't do you any good because the only thought going through that thing is me Because you took time out of your day to call me manly But if you think I'm manly than sure you can say I'm manly. I decided to love myself today. Escaping to the gym is my happiness. But apparently escaping to the gym is also escaping to where you are and if I am breathing the exact same air as you then I guess you can say I'm manly. Nameless. I don't even know who you are. What business is it to you to even talk to me let alone express your opinion on my appearance. Strong Bold Confident Graceful Motivated If these things make me manly than please call me manly! But don't you dare leave out the prefix that earns the right to stand just before that cringe word. Womanly. © 2018 AnnaAuthor's Note
