Princess Andrea and Mr. Sourhead
                             By: Chris
Once upon a time there lived a princess named Andrea.  Andrea was the most beautiful princess of all.  She had magical curly red hair and the eyes of an angel.  Not only was Princess Andrea beautiful, but she was smart, kind and very loving.  Everyone in her kingdom loved her so and she, in turn, loved them back.  However, like in all kingdoms, there was one person that did not love anyone or anything not even himself.  And he especially did not like the Princess because of her beauty and kindness.  This person was the evil Mr. Sourhead.

Mr. Sourhead was very sour.  His face was all scrunched up like a lemon.  His eyes were squinty and dark.  His skin was shriveled like a prune.  Most of all he was mean and had no love in his heart.  All he wanted to do was to be mean to people and try to steal the love from their hearts.  Mr. Sourhead would spend his days trying to make everyone sad.  He would wake up in the morning and set out to ruin everyone’s day.  He would go to schools and scribble on the children’s beautiful pictures.  He would pour orange juice in people’s cereal.  He would flatten people’s tires.  He would throw mud on everyone’s clothes.  He would do anything he could to take away a person’s happy day and steal their love.

One day Mr. Sourhead was running around the Kingdom doing his nasty deeds.  Going from school to school and from house to house making a mess of things.  All of a sudden Mr. Sourhead spotted the beautiful Princess Andrea.  He thought to himself, “forget all these regular people, I need to steal the Princess’s love”.  “She has more love in her heart than anyone.  If I can steal her love, the rest of the Kingdom will all be sad because she is sad”.  So Mr. Sourhead set out to do everything he could to steal the Princesses love and make her sad.

On the day of her birthday party Mr. Sourhead snuck into  her castle, walked down the long hallway, went up all the stairs and found her magical Princess bedroom.  He then took out a bag that was hidden in his shirt, went to the Princess’s closet and took her very favorite Princess dress.  In fact, the one she was going to wear to the party.  Once he had the dress his face became extra scrunchy, extra mean and extra sour.  It was scary.  Then he snuck back out of the castle and no one saw him.

He decided that taking her dress would not make her really, really sad.  He needed to take something else.  So he snuck back into the castle, went back down the hallway, up all those stairs again and into her room.  He was looking for something very special to take.  There on the dresser was the “something” very special…her Princess tiara.  He grabbed that and because he was so mean he also took her favorite shoes and all of her favorite hair ribbons she planned to wear that night.  And for good measure he snatched her favorite teddy bear right off her Princess bed.

When Princess Andrea went to her room to start getting ready for her party, she and her Princess helpers noticed that all of the things she had laid out for her party were missing, even her favorite dress from her closet.  She was sad…not very sad but a little sad…not sad enough to let the missing things ruin her magical day.  She remembered she had many other beautiful dresses and other beautiful things to put in her hair.  She also remembered she had many, many people who loved her and that always made her happy.  So she picked out her second favorite dress with the matching shoes and let her Princess helpers fix her hair with her other beautiful barrettes and ribbons.  She looked gorgeous.

Later that night at her party everyone commented on how pretty she looked.  They especially loved her big happy smile.  But Mr. Sourhead was not smiling.  In fact, he was the grumpiest anyone had ever seen him.  His anger got the best of him and he marched right up to Princess Andrea, and instead of wishing her Happy Birthday he demanded to know why she was so happy.  He blurted out that he had taken her things and she should be very sad indeed.  But she smiled and said, “I was sad but not very sad because I remembered that I have a lot of people who love me, and that always makes me happy.  I have a lot of love in my heart and I want you to have love in your heart as well.”  Before he could say anything, she hugged him really, really tight.  His heart began to melt.  She then took him by the hand and announced to her kingdom that this was her new friend.  Everyone in the kingdom rushed forward to greet him, many people giving him hugs.  Mr. Sourhead could not help it.  His sadness was being replaced with happiness and love.  A big smile spread across his face and there was nothing he could do to stop it.  For the first time ever he was happy.  He looked at Princess Andrea and said, “thank you!  Thank you for teaching me about love.  I will be your friend forever.”
