Eye of the BeholderA Poem by Annabelle
You are beautiful.
You may not have a smile that shows through your eyes, or you may not have a long mane dripping of gold. Your eyes are not the color of a clear morning sky. Your thighs enjoy the company of the other. And your skin has tiger stripes, reminding you of how strong you are. But you are beautiful. In the way that the sun loves the springtime, because for an hour or so, she may rest with the moon. You are beautiful. In the way the love poems live in broken hearts. In the way that a gust of warm wind dances with your hair. And you are beautiful. Because you refuse to accept sadness, even though it is all life has had to offer.
