Self Control

Self Control

A Poem by Tommye Turner
"

A poem depicting the inner struggle within an individual's mind on how they still have feelings for someone they were once romantically involved with.

"

Resisting the urge to look

Resisting the urge to smile

Resisting the urge to fall to my knees

Resisting the urge to crumble

Resisting the urge to turn back

Resisting the urge to kiss you

Resisting the urge to lose all control

Resisting the urge to have you

Resisting the urge to embrace you

Resisting the urge to release you

Resisting the urge to break down and cry

Resisting the urge to desire

Really meaningful, emotional piece.
Of a heartbroken person that's just trying to be strong and move on.
You wrote this piece out in a very poetic way.
great write, i enjoyed the read :)

The struggle of the heart to ignore what it longs for so bad is like trying to hold back a train with your hands. That part of a relationship is never though about or divulged until it's too late.
