Annabel Lee

A slightly different version of Poes' poem

To love and be loved by him
that was the only thing on your mind
but the angels, he said, coveted you

Which angels, my darling?
your kingdom was cursed
and cursed was your love, too


Annabel Lee, tell me
are you still waiting for him
in this kingdom by the sea?
Annabel Lee, don't you see
it was nothing but a beautiful dream
He is lying with the demons under the sea
while you are still waiting for him
in this kingdom by the sea
you beautiful, young maiden

On this cold cloudy night
chill filled the air
you searched for a warm place to stay

his search was a failure
fear filled his mind
he thought your kinsmen brought you away

He looked for his angel
even under the sea
but you were nowhere to be found

you did not know
that in this kingdom by the sea
men can easily drown


Annabel Lee, tell me

My heart thumped as I read it. Because you made a sequel (well, it did read like a sequel) of Poe's Annabel Lee. Or, if not a sequel, it sounded like a haunting on Poe's poem. Be that as it may, it is a good haunting, dear. Very Poe-tic. :)

i didnt really love this one hun.
But i like the way it flows and goes together.
All your poems always sound very poetic.
You never have the problem some people do where they say its a poem but it doesn't sound like one.

didnt rhyme that well thats all and its not so much i didnt understand the storyline, i just like most your other stuff more.
